Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to your use of the Wafra mobile application and our website. By using our services you agree to these terms.

Service description

Wafra is an electronic platform that lets users reserve and purchase surprise bags from partner restaurants, bakeries, and stores in Jordan at discounted prices. The service is provided through the Wafra mobile app and our website.

User accounts and eligibility

Users must be 18 years or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.

Ordering and pickup

When you reserve a bag, the pickup window is shown. You must arrive within that window. Reservations that are not picked up may be marked "no-show" and may affect your ability to place future reservations.

Payments and refunds

Payment is available either as cash on pickup or online through our authorised payment gateway. Refunds are available in specific cases (cancellation before the pickup window opens, partner-side failures, or accepted complaints).

Wafra's role as an intermediary platform & food quality disclaimer

Wafra is an electronic intermediary platform that connects restaurants, bakeries, and stores ("Partners") with consumers ("Users"). Wafra is not a restaurant, store, or food manufacturer.

Wafra does not own, manufacture, prepare, store, transport, or handle any food products offered through the application. All food products in "Wafra Bags" are prepared and provided exclusively by registered Partners.

Food Quality and Safety Disclaimer:

  1. Wafra is not responsible in any way for the quality, safety, hygiene, or shelf life of any food product provided by Partners.
  2. Wafra is not responsible for any health damage, food allergies, food poisoning, or any adverse effect resulting from consuming products offered through the application.
  3. The Partner (restaurant/bakery/store) is solely responsible for:
    • Quality and safety of food products
    • Compliance with health and food safety standards approved in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
    • Disclosure of allergens and ingredients
    • Ensuring products are fit for human consumption
    • Compliance with all local laws and regulations related to food safety
  4. A Wafra Bag is a "surprise bag" — neither Wafra nor the User can determine its contents in advance. If you have any food allergies, you must inquire directly with the Partner before or at pickup.
  5. By using the Wafra application, you agree that Wafra is an intermediary platform only and that you assume full responsibility for the decision to purchase and consume any food product.
  6. Wafra makes no express or implied warranties regarding food products, including warranties of fitness for consumption, quality, or taste.
  7. For any complaints regarding food quality, the User must contact the Partner directly. Wafra can assist in communication but is not a party to any dispute regarding product quality.

Green points system

Wafra Green Points have a nominal monetary value of 0.005 JOD per point and are used exclusively to donate, through the app, to charitable organisations registered in Jordan.

  • Points cannot be converted to cash
  • Points cannot be transferred between users
  • Points cannot be used for any purpose other than donation
  • Wafra reserves the right to adjust the per-point value with 30 days' notice to users
  • Points expire after 12 months of account inactivity
  • Wafra is responsible for forwarding the donated value to the chosen charitable organisations

Loyalty card

For every 15 Wafra bags you successfully pick up, you earn one free bag. Bags are counted only when the pickup is confirmed (status "picked up"). Cancellations and no-shows do not decrement loyalty progress.

Partner terms (for businesses)

Partners agree to Wafra's standards for food quality, packaging, and pickup, including: clean packaging, food-safe materials, honest disclosure of contents on request, and adherence to advertised pickup windows.

Commission structure

Wafra retains a commission on every successfully delivered bag. The exact rate is set per partner tier and detailed in the separate partner agreement. Settlements are paid out to partners on a regular schedule.

Intellectual property

All intellectual property related to Wafra (name, logo, code, designs) is owned exclusively by Wafra. No reuse or reproduction is permitted without written consent.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wafra is not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damages arising from use of the service.

Indemnification

The User agrees to indemnify and hold Wafra harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Use of the application
  • Consumption of any food product obtained through the application
  • Breach of these terms

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amman, Jordan.
